14MZ Radio System FAQ
I still cannot figure out how to have Dual rates and exponential at the same time. I only see one place to set this up, but every time I try to put in expo, it erases my D/R settings. How do I lock in the dual rates and then set up expo?
If you go to the AFR (d/r) menu and select the channel desired, you can set up exponential and dual rate. First set up the AFR 100% travel. Set Rate A and Rate B for the amount and direction of throw, at your normal 100% rate. Normally, you'd not adjust anything there.
If you want exponential at 100% rates, then press the buttion at the top-right of the graph. It defaults to "Linear". Change it to Expo1, which is the normal expo curve for most models. Set Exp A and Exp B to the amount of expo curve you wish.
To set up a dual rate, now go to the "D/R" button. Select D/R 1 and turn it on. Select which switch you wish to have it operate. After you select the switch, select its 'on posi'. Now move the switch to the D/R 1 position. Set Rate A and Rate B to the amount of D/R you wish for that function. If you want that rate to also have an expo curve, then set the amount of expo. If you leave expo at 0% but change the % of the rates, you have a linear dual rate. If your original rate had no expo, you can leave the rates at 100% and change EXP A and EXP B and have an expo on/off. You can have a lower rate with expo.
Remember to add expo to a rate, just change the linear button to EXP 1.
